Marshmallow Top Hats

So... These are to. die. for!
AND so easy to make! I went to a birthday party and got the recipe from a friend.

Marshmallow Top Hats

Ingredients:
  • milk chocolate (Your favorite brand. Can be anything. I really enjoyed Ande mints), melted
  • marshmallows (I ues the big ones but im sure you could use a couple of mini ones instead also)
  • colourful sweets of your choice (optional)
You will need small colourful paper cases for sweets (mini cupcake liners)

How to make:

In a pan (or microwave) melt your chocolate. Then place a teaspoon or more of melted chocolate into each paper case ( however many you are using) and place a marshmallow on top, gently pushing the marshmallow down into the chocolate.
Place a small dot of melted chocolate on the top of each marshmallow, then place a colourful sweet on top if you want, you can leave it off an just have a dot of chocolate also, which i prefer better. Store in the fridge (covered)until the chocolate has set before serving.

If you make these let me know what candy you used as your chocolate. I have heard that Reese Peanut Butter Cups are good with this too!

Cream Cheese Garlic Sauce

Hey Everyone!!

So i have a really awesome recipe my mom came across a few years ago to change up our chicken/pork chops/steak. I usually eat this on my steak :)

I couldnt find the sheet that my mom had the recipe on and i have been making this for awhile so i just put it on here the way i do it.

Cream Cheese Garlic Sauce

It is so delicious! Here is what you will need to make it:

  • Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons of Butter
  • Package of cream cheese (8 ounces or so)
  • Garlic (either you can buy one and use a couple cloves chopped, get minced, or use powder like i did in the picture)

  • Also you will need a Saucepan, and a whisk.

OK to start off get everything you need together.

In your pan you want to throw in the butter and garlic on medium heat (if you use cloves i use 2, but with the powder i just kind of throw in as much to my taste, so you do the same) You want the garlic to brown a little bit.

Once the butter has melted and the garlic has browned a little then you want to add your cream cheese and let that melt a little bit. Once that has melted add in your milk. I usually use around a little under 1/4 cup but only add a little bit at a time until you get it a little creamier.

Once you have it all mixed together put your heat on low and keep stirring. This only takes a few minutes to make so try to do it a little before your meat is done. Sometimes i will put it right on top but if you are not sure if you will like it you can put it on the side and use it as a dipping sauce too!

(mine is a little soupier than i wanted but that is because i added too much milk)

I hope you all enjoy this as much as me! If you have any questions let me know and i will answer them for you! Thanks!!

Happy {belated} Valentine!

Hey all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day! I did! My husband and daughter made me breakfast in bed! :)

So i got an idea to make a blanket for my husband as his valentines day gift from this blog.

Here is what theirs looks like:

And this is what mine turned out to look like:

Here is what you will need for this project :)\
  • 4 Yards of fabric ( I used 2 yards of brown for the front and 2 yards of creme with brown polka dots for the back)
  • Scrap Piece of pink fabric (or whatever color you want)
  • 6 Ft of Bias Tape (or more depending on if you want yours bigger than this)
  • Quilters batting
  • Embroidery Floss and needle
  • Sewing machine
I had my sister in law help me with this while i was visiting her a few weeks ago. First you need to make sure you have your 2 yards of fabric for each size (I had the lady at Jo Ann Fabrics cut mine in the 2 yards when i purchased it). Then you need to cut out a heart in the front fabric, in my case the brown. We used a template and traced it and then cut out. Then what i did was hand embroider our intials on the pink fabric. After that i sewed the pink fabric behind the brown in the heart area.

Once you have done that then you need to put the quilters batting between the two pieces of fabric and pin it all together. After we were done with this we just started sewing wiggly lines up and down the blanket. You dont have to be perfect. Then finally the last step is to do the bias tape all the way around the blanket!

We had a lot of fun doing this and it was a really quick project! it only took us about 2 hours! :) Sorry i didnt take more pictures but this was a few weeks ago before i decided to start a blog.

Hope you all enjoyed this! Check out my sister in laws blog Little Oak Creations :) She has a ton of great things on her blog also!

iPhone Pillow

Hey all!

So for my first blog post i am going to show you all a tutorial that i found off of pinterest today. I wanted something that would hold my phone up a little when im looking at things on it while im crafting at my table :) this was perfect.

This is the tutorial i found and used. Here is what hers looks like compared to mine :)

What you need is:
  • Fabric
  • Scissors (or rotary cutter and board- this is what i used)
  • Rice
  • Funnel
  • Marker or crayon that can be erased or similar color to stitch on
  • Sewing machine

I printed out and used the pattern that she used on her tutorial. This is what it looked like after i cut out my fabric:

After that you just sew up the sides leaving a little gap in one to fill with the rice. I honestly followed her tutorial and it was so easy. I am really pleased with the way that it turned out.

Thank you all and i hope that you like this tutorial. Sorry i wasnt clearer on some things but if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask!
